Wednesday Wednesday, January 30th 1:30 to 2:30 in Room 344 Dr. Richard Willis Director of Pavement Engineering & Innovation at the National Asphalt Pavement Association will deliver a special secession on Heavy Duty Pavements. Today economy requires pavements that can take the pressure of heavy vehicles carrying big loads, and deliver long service lives and suitable performance, year after year, ton after ton. Heavy duty pavements are critical to the smooth operation of freight corridors, truck terminals, bus terminals, shipping ports, airports, industrial drives, distribution centers, and other critical infrastructure facilities. The presentation will discuss the fundamentals necessary to successfully plan, design, and construct pavement facilities that withstand severe loading. It will cover design, materials, construction, maintenance and technologies in a way that is relevant to facility owners, design engineers, construction managers, and other heavy duty pavement project staff.
