MD WofA Trail with a Cause Recap
On Wednesday, June 17, members of the Maryland Women of Asphalt and the greater asphalt industry community (and some pets!) gathered at Lake Kittamaqundi in Columbia for a walk around the lake in support of intimate partner violence (IPV). Mother Nature provided a perfectly warm 84-degree evening with partly sunny skies, while Hale Trailer, Brake & Wheel provided light refreshments for the participants.
Donations were also collected for the House of Ruth Maryland, which provides services like rapid rehousing, shelter, free childcare, and more for survivors of IPV. In the United States, 1 in 3 women experience IPV in their lifetimes. Supporting this program not only supports Marylanders but also helps to meet the Women of Asphalt’s mission of building a strong, supportive community for women.
