The Maryland Women of Asphalt is teaming up with House of Ruth Maryland for Trail with a Cause – a 1.4-mile community walk around Lake Kittamaqundi in Columbia to support survivors of intimate partner violence. This free, family- and pet-friendly event takes place on June 17 at 6:00 p.m.
While there’s no cost to attend, guests are encouraged to bring a donation item from House of Ruth Maryland’s needs list (more information in the registration section).
Light refreshments will be provided after the walk.
Come walk with purpose and help make a difference!

Parking is available in a small parking garage or a large surface lot. Meet the group at the fountain.
Registration is free, but required.
Please bring donations for the House of Ruth Maryland needs list, including:
- NEW clothing, tags on or in original packaging, and gently used CLEAN, LAUNDERED clothing free of stains, dirt, excessive wear, or other defects.
The following items must be full-size, NEW, UNOPENED IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING:
- HIGH PRIORITY: Deodorant, toothpaste, standard-size bed pillows, twin bedsheet sets and blankets, twin inflatable mattresses, new underwear (children’s and women’s – all sizes), disinfecting wipes, and towels (bath towels, hand towels, kitchen towels, and dishrags).
- Bedroom items: other air mattresses, pillows, new sheets & comforter sets
- Cleaning supplies: dish soap, paper towels, laundry detergent
- Bathroom items: toilet paper, bathmats, shower curtains
- Personal items: socks (all sizes), bar soap, feminine hygiene products
- Baby/children’s items: baby wipes, formula, size 3T-4T training pants
