The 62nd Annual Paving Conference, hosted by the Maryland Asphalt Association, brought the industry together this week at Martin’s West for a full day that proved relationships are still the backbone of this business.
Attendees chose between dedicated Leadership & Engineering and Paving session tracks, allowing sessions to dive deeper into the issues that matter most in the field and the office. Presentations covered Maryland paving innovations, advancements in asphalt plant operations and equipment, work zone safety monitoring, and updates on transportation funding.
In between strong technical sessions, from paving innovations and safety to funding updates and emerging technologies, meaningful conversations happened. Contractors, agency leaders, engineers, suppliers, and plant operators filled the halls early, catching up over breakfast, reconnecting at lunch, and continuing discussions well after presentations wrapped. In an industry built on trust and teamwork, face-to-face time matters.
The exhibit hall was a central hub throughout the day. Exhibitors showcased equipment, materials, technology, and services that keep Maryland’s roads moving forward. Attendees had ample opportunity to engage directly with vendors, ask questions, and explore practical solutions they can put to work immediately.
The conference concluded with the 2025 Maryland Excellence in Paving Awards, celebrating outstanding projects across the state. All told, the day reinforced a simple truth: good roads are built by strong partnerships, and this event continues to strengthen them year after year.
